Driving Impact: 2024 CRI Golf Event Raises $11,000 for Life Enrichment

by | Aug 27, 2024 | Events, Fundraising

The 13th Annual Dennis J. Crotty Memorial Golf Outing, hosted by Community Resources for Independence (CRI) on July 26, 2024, at the beautiful Culbertson Hills Golf Resort in Edinboro, PA, was a remarkable success. This year, we were thrilled to welcome 96 enthusiastic golfers who came together not just for a day of friendly competition, but also to make a profound impact on the lives of those we serve.

Thanks to the generosity of our participants, sponsors, and volunteers, we raised over $11,000. These funds are crucial in supporting our Life Enrichment Program, which plays a vital role in enhancing the lives of people with disabilities and the elderly.

How We Put Your Contributions to Work

Life Enrichment Programming
The funds raised from this event will directly benefit CRI’s Life Enrichment Program, which provides a variety of activities and support for people with disabilities. Over the past year, CRI hosted more than 30 functions, offering opportunities such as art expression classes, peer wellness and support groups, and community outings. These programs help individuals connect, express themselves, and enjoy enriching experiences that might otherwise be inaccessible.

Personal Care Services
In addition to life enrichment activities, CRI offers personal care services for those who have temporary needs exceeding what the state of Pennsylvania provides. In the past year, CRI has delivered over 150 hours of personal care services, ensuring that people with disabilities receive the assistance they need to live independently.

Hospice Care Support
At CRI, we believe in providing dignity and care at all stages of life, including the final moments. During the 2023-2024 period, we received requests to support two individuals in hospice care. While these individuals passed away shortly after the requests were made, our wraparound services ensured that they were comforted and supported during their final hours.
